Pantry Drawers DIY – Install In 3 Easy Steps!

Installing your new pantry drawers is as easy as 1, 2, 3. Read through the following step by step instructions which will guide you through the installation of our rolling shelf on the base of your cabinet or on a full upper shelf. You need a level, a drill and a pencil. If you are installing the pull out on an adjustable shelf, you will also need some L-brackets from the hardware store.

Step 1:  Check to make sure the pull out shelf fits without any trouble.

Step 2: Make sure the shelf is level.

Step 3: To reinforce an adjustable shelf, attach two L-brackets on either side of the front and the back. If it is not level or not adjustable, then you will need to use shims to properly level the pull out brackets.

*Please note: From this point forward, the installation process is the same whether you are installing the custom pull out shelf on the cabinet base or on the full upper shelf.

Step 4:  Center the shelf from side to side and front to back and push down firmly on the pull out shelf to release both rails at the same time. The shelf should be flush with the front of the cabinet – if it goes past the front of the cabinet the door will hit it and not close properly.

Step 5: Pull out the shelf slowly towards you so that both rails are exposed.

Step 6: Place a half inch screw in each rear bracket to hold them in place.

Step 7:  Test the pull out shelf to make sure both rails stop at the same time. If there is a wobble it means one side is set in deeper. Remove the screw from that side, adjust it, and re-test.

Step 8:  Once the wobble is gone, mark each hole with a pencil. This will make it easier to adjust the brackets if they shift while you are working.

Step 9:  Remove the pull out shelf by pressing on these clippers – the one side clipper goes down while the other side goes up.

Step 10:  Now you can clearly see the brackets and install the remaining screws.

Step 11:  Place the pull out shelf onto the rails and push the shelf back until you hear a click and continue pushing all the way back.

Step 12:  Once it is locked into the rails, you can install the upper shelf the same way.

• What you will need: a tape measure, pen and piece of paper
• Before you begin clear out your cabinet
• Measure the opening of your cabinet in inches. Subtract one half inch from your measurement. For example, it your cabinet is 24 inches wide then your want to write down 23. 5 inches.
• Measure the depth of your cabinet from front to back in inches. Subtract one half inch from this measurement too.
